Headquartered in Western Michigan, Bata Plastics is a family owned and operated business established in 1985. We offer a full-service recycling partnership with companies to help reduce costs, develop an environmental management system, and accomplish our mission to conserve our resources and protect our environment for future generations.
Bata Plastics buys surplus and rejected parts of postindustrial plastics from manufacturers and scrap dealers. We tailor our services to fit our customer’s needs offering complete “closed loop “recycling solutions.
With innovative thinking in production and effective buying/selling in the marketplace, the company has grown in 35 years from two to 84 employees, a 30,000 square foot to 120,000 square foot Silver LEED Certified Grand Rapids facility, and one tractor with 12 trailers to three tractors with 115 trailers and added a second 100,000 sq. ft. bldg. in Toledo, OH.
Creative development, compensation for plastic scrap, careful production, and supplying a second-generation plastic for continued use in the marketplace has saved millions of pounds of plastic from entering landfills. Together, employees at Bata Plastics Grand Rapids, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio facilities recycle nearly nine million pounds of plastic every year—an environmental impact that translates to saving enough electricity to power the average home for 856,464 days!
